Those of you who read my blog on a regular basis know that I quote quite a few other blog entries from time to time. Obviously, I always quote the source, I only take excerpts, and I denote clearly that it is a "quote".
Well, I stumbled into this the other day:
Build Your Own AJAX Calendar
Now, this page bears a striking resemblance to MY ARTICLE, posted over at the Genesis Blog:
An AJAX ASP.NET Calendar
Such a striking resemblance in fact, that it borders on complete plagarism!
Now, at first, I figured that this was just a simple SPAM blog (Splog), and perhaps it actually is. A good deal of the site is written in Chinese, so I can't be completely sure of it's intentions. However, what makes me think that it isn't more than just a Splog, is the fact that someone has taken the time to annotate the thing in Chinese! For instance, above each of the code blocks is the text 程序代码, which if I translate in Google means "Procedure Code". I don't think that someone setting up a Splog would go to this trouble.
I do find it odd (and good???), that the author mentions my name at the bottom, with a link back to the original article. The Chinese text there, 文章来自, means "The article from"
Interesting I think. Funny more than anything, I really don't have a problem with it, as they are linking back. However, in principle they should have at least gotten permission to post the ENTIRE ARTICLE.
